Lea's Legacy 5K Run/1 Mile Walk

Lea's Legacy 5K Run/1 Mile Walk is an event that will take place at the Berlin Community Center/Berlin Community School in Berlin, NJ. The event offers two courses: a 5k run and a 1 mile walk. The 5k run covers a distance of 3.1 miles, while the 1 mile walk covers a distance of 1 mile. The registration fee for both courses is $20.

This event is organized in memory of Lea, a dedicated teacher and educator who held a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. Lea was passionate about sharing her knowledge and worked with various educational programs and institutions.

50% of the proceeds from the event will be donated to METAvivor, an organization that supports research on metastatic breast cancer. The remaining 50% will be used to fund local scholarships in Lea's memory. METAvivor is led by volunteers, most of whom are living with metastatic breast cancer, and they work to obtain grants and corporate sponsors to support their operational expenses.

Participants who pre-register for the event will receive a T-shirt, while supplies last. The size of the T-shirt is guaranteed only for those who register before September 3rd. Refreshments will be provided after the race.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female participants in the 5k run.

The deadline for online pre-registration is September 15th. There will be no prior packet pick-up, and check-in for pre-registrants will begin at 7:30 AM on race day. Same day/race day registrations will also be accepted from 7:30-8:30 AM for a fee of $30 for adults and $20 for kids 12 and under.
