Mountain Madness Series

The Running Kind and Sassquad Trail Running present the Mountain Madness Series, a new mountain running challenge for 2026. This series combines four events, two from each brand, offering participants a true taste of Northeast trail running. Those who complete all four events will earn a commemorative item. Participants can choose their distance at each event, and all distances count towards the series completion.

To complete the Mountain Madness Series, you must finish one event in each of these four races in the 2026 calendar year:

• Big Bear SquaTCh North - April 4, 2026, Bear Mountain, NY (Half Marathon, 10K, 10K Ruck)
• C'mon Armageddon - May 17, 2026, West Milford, NJ (50K, 10 Mile & 5 Mile)
• Climb it for Climate - August 16, 2026, Highmount, NY (25K & 8K)
• Big Bear SquaTCh South - October 18, 2026, Tuxedo, NY (13.1M, 10K)

Registration Details:

• Sign-up for free before January 31st, 2026. A $10 registration fee applies from February 1st.
• Participants must register separately for each of the four races through their respective event pages. Registering for the series does not automatically register you for individual races.
• Finishers will receive a commemorative item at the final event.

FAQ's:

• Any distance offered at each event counts towards the series.
• Running or hiking is acceptable, as long as the finish line is reached within designated cut-offs.
• Completion is tracked via official race results.
• The challenge is not competitive; focus is on community, consistency, and fun. Finish times do not matter.
