Outrun the Rays 5k Walk/Run

The Outrun the Rays 5k Walk/Run is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Peosta, IA. The event includes a 5k race and a Kids Run.

Events:

• 5k: Starts at 9:15 AM CDT. Early registration is $25 (includes t-shirt, add $2 for 2XL). Onsite registration is from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM. Late/same-day registration is $30 (t-shirt not guaranteed). The race is professionally timed by J3 Timing.
• Kids Run: Starts at 8:45 AM CDT. Open to ages 9 and under. This race is not professionally timed, but medals will be awarded to the top three finishers (boys and girls). Registration includes a t-shirt and race packet. Early registration is $15. Late/same-day registration is $20.

The race starts and ends at the Peosta Community Center, 7896 Burds Rd, Peosta, IA 52068.

A Bike Ride also starts at 1:00 PM at Darkbird Taphouse in Peosta, IA, with routes of 24 or 38 miles. Entry to the bike ride is a free-will donation. More information is available at www.bikeiowa.com or www.OutrunTheRays.org.

The event encourages participants to wear team t-shirts in honor of melanoma warriors.
