The Rhythm of the Heart 5K Run & Walk is a brand-new addition kicking off the City of Loves Park’s 4th annual Rhythm of the Heart Music Festival, an event known for bringing people together through food vendors, artisan markets, live music, and a strong sense of community. Now, the race is designed to do the same: bring people together. This community-focused 5K welcomes runners and walkers of all ages to experience the heart and roots of Loves Park, as the course winds through some of the city’s original neighborhoods, the Field of Honor, and along the Rock River Recreation Path, offering scenic views and glimpses of the river along the way. Whether you’re chasing a personal best, walking with friends and family, or cheering from the sidelines, this race is about more than just the miles or a good workout, it’s about connection. The 5K sets the tone for festival day, bringing neighbors and visitors together to celebrate community pride and everything that makes Loves Park special.

Race Awards

Awards will be given to the Top 3 overall male and female finishers. The Top 3 finishers in each of the following age groups will also be recognized: 1-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and up. All participants will receive a finishers medal.

Parking

There is plenty of race day parking available around City Hall, Sand Park Pool, and GE Aviation.

Packet Pickup

Race packets can be picked up early at Loves Park City Hall on Wednesday July 22 from 1-7pm and Friday July 24 from 1-7pm. Race packets can also be picked up on race day at City Hall starting one hour before the race begins.
