Race Info

Put on your "luckiest" festive gear and join us at our annual Run for Gold 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run! Run for Gold is proudly brought to you by the Oconee Parks Foundation! This family friendly 5K and Fun Run benefits the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department, and all proceeds from this event will go towards on-going park projects at the Oconee Parks and Recreation Department. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome! See you there!

Price: $15.00 Race Fee + $2.57 SignUp Fee
Price increases to $20.00 after February 27, 2026 at 11:59pm EST

Run for Gold 5K
Strollers and leashed dogs are welcomed
Start Time:3:30pm EDT
Price: $25.00 Race Fee + $3.15 SignUp Fee
Price increases to $30.00 after February 27, 2026 at 11:59pm EST

Race Day Schedule

• 2:00pm Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup
• 3:00pm 1-Mile Fun Run
• 3:30pm Run for Gold 5K
• 4:30pm Awards Ceremony

Course

The course is run entirely within Oconee Veterans Park on the Fitness trail. Start and Finish are on the Soccer Field side of the complex at the Concession Stand.

T-Shirts

If you would like a t-shirt for this race register by March 1. After that date t-shirts are not guaranteed and will be available as supply lasts.

Awards

Awards are given to Overall Male / Female, Masters Male/Female GrandMasters Male/Female and the following Male / Female Age Groups: 5-year age groups Male/Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd: 10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and Over.

What if it Rains?

We get wet! Race start time may be delayed in 15-minute increments if storms are in the area. Sorry, no refunds due to inclement weather.
