The Call of the Mountain

In the ancient lands of Stone Mountain, where wind howls like lost spirits and the trails bleed ice and fire, a sacred ritual awakens. This is no ordinary race. This is a quest — a trial etched in sweat and stone, where only the worthy may survive.

But only those who attempt the 50K shall walk the full circle of power — and face the Six Stones.

🪨 The Quest of the Six Stones (50K Only)

The journey begins with the gift of a Protection Stone, carried with you through every step. Scattered across the mountain trails lie Six Sacred Stones, one at each Aid Station — two guarded only by silence, the rest by watchers of the ancient ways. You must claim them all. No stones. No Blood Book. No glory.

📕 The Blood Book (If you buy it)

Survivors of the full quest shall be gifted the Blood Book — a handcrafted relic to house the Six Stones and a finisher’s medal, formed in fire by BlueGill Pottery. No two are the same. Complete your Blood Book, and you complete the legend.

🗺️ The Path of Trials

The journey begins near the Visitor Center. Follow the Bypass Trail into the Stone Mountain Loop, descend to Wolf Creek, and merge with the Mountain-to-Sea Trail. Ascend the 300 Stairs of Judgment, then return to the Aid Station — completing a brutal loop of rock, roots, and ruin.

• Elevation Gain: ~1,530 ft per loop
• Trail Markings: Red Ribbons & Yellow Arrows
• Expect: Ice, fog, mud, pain — and the mountain’s judgment.

🧃 The Sanctuaries

• Five Aid Stations: 2 Manned, 3 Unmanned
• Each holds a Stone Token
• Food: Pickles, bacon, candy, cereal, fruit
• Drink: Water, Tailwind, soda
• First aid provided
• Let staff know if you drop

🕰️ The Clock of Reckoning

• Park Opens: 7:00 AM
• Bib Pickup: 7:10–7:50 AM (Race day only)
• Race Start: 8:00 AM
• Race Ends: 5:30 PM
• Time Limit: 10 hours — no mercy

🎖️ The Final Blessing

Each finisher receives a one-of-a-kind pottery medal — shaped by hand, chosen by fate. Yours, and yours alone.

📜 Rules of the Realm

• No dogs, no strollers
• No refunds for weather or wrath
• Walkers welcome — if they finish
• Trekking poles allowed
• Bibs must be worn on the front
• No unregistered runners
