The Broken Arrow Skyrace, presented by ACG (All Conditions Gear), is a four-day, ten-distance event held at the world-famous Palisades Tahoe ski resort. On June 18-21, 2026, elite and recreational participants will experience an unforgettable trail running experience “where the mountains meet the sky.” Each distance celebrates the beauty of Lake Tahoe, the Jewel of the Sierra Nevada. Designed in the vein of classic European Skyraces, the Broken Arrow Skyrace represents a unique style of mountain running characterized by off-trail scrambling on steep terrain and featuring massive amounts of vertical gain and loss…at altitude....with exposure, hand lines, a ladder, and dramatic (up to 40 degrees) snow slopes thrown in for good measure!

The event features multiple distances including a 46k, 23k, 18k, Vertical K (Ascent), 11k, Triple Crown (Ascent/23k/46k), the Iron Crown (Iron Face Challenge/23k/46k), the Iron Face Challenge, and a kids race. Most of the terrain is above the tree line, offering spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and Palisade Tahoe's high-alpine terrain.

Elite and recreational participants run and then celebrate together with first-class food, craft beer, music, seminars, films, and fun activities for the whole family.

Registration Details:

• Registration opens at 9 AM PST on Monday, December 8th, 2025.
• Registration closes at 11:59 PM PST on June 10th, 2026.
• A delayed-charge process will be used for registration to ensure a fair signup.

Event Schedule & Distances:

• Friday, June 19th, 2026:
• The Ascent (formerly VK): 9:30 AM, $105, 3 miles, ~3,100 ft gain. Limited to 500 runners.
• Iron Face Challenge: 12:00 PM, $275, 5.75 miles, ~2,000 ft gain. Limited to 100 participants. Features uphill, downhill, and via ferrata scrambling.
• 18K: 12:00 PM, $130, 11 miles, ~3,800 ft climbing. Limited to 600 runners.
• Saturday, June 20th, 2026:
• 46K: 7:00 AM, $199, signature distance, ~10,000 ft climbing. Limited to 800 runners.
• 11K: 8:00 AM, $99, 11km, ~1,840 ft gain. Limited to 600 runners.
• Sunday, June 21st, 2026:
• 23K: 9:00 AM, $150, 14.25 miles, ~5,000 ft climbing. Limited to 1300 runners.
• Kids Run: 9:30 AM, $20, less than 1km.
• Multi-day Options:
• Triple Crown (Ascent, 46k, 23k): $445, Limited to 200 runners.
• Iron Crown (Iron Face Challenge, 23k, 46k): $575, Limited to 25 runners.

Awards and Prizes:

The event offers $150,000 in cash prizes for the top ten runners in each gender for the Ascent, 23k, and 46k. Age group awards and non-binary podium prizes are also available.
