Welcome to the Welland Canal Open Water Swim and 15K Ultra Swim, the final event of the Ontario Season. This event is held at the Welland International Flatwater Centre and is part of the Canaqua Sports Open Water Swim Series.

• 1K Swim (Elma Couture 1K Swim)
• 2.5K Swim
• 5K Swim
• 10K Swim
• 15K Ultra Swim

The event aims to cater to all open water swimmers, regardless of ability, and offers a great way to end the open water season.

Race Info

• Location: Welland International Flatwater Centre, 16 Townline Tunnel Road, Welland, ON L3C 2T4
• Check-in: Welland International Flatwater Centre (WIFC)
• Awards: Presented to the top finisher in each race.
• Facilities: Washrooms and food will be provided.
• World Class Facility: Used for the 2015 Pan-Am Games.

Race Details

• Swim caps will be provided and must be worn.
• A number will be inked on the upper back/shoulder of each swimmer.
• Water temperature typically ranges between 68 – 72 degrees Fahrenheit.
• In-water start and finish.
• Time limits will be strictly enforced for each distance.
• Swimmers should be physically fit and trained.
• No "rain date"; delays or cancellations only in case of lightning.

Event Schedule (Sunday, August 30, 2026)

• 6:30 a.m. - Onsite Registration and check-in
• 7:45 a.m. - Mandatory Meeting (10K and 15K swimmers)
• 8:15 a.m. - 10K and 15K start
• 8:45 a.m. - Mandatory Meeting (1K, 2.5K, and 5K swimmers)
• 9:15 a.m. - 5K Start
• 9:30 a.m. - 1.0K and 2.5K Start
