Description

You're invited to join hundreds of runners and walkers in Belmont community to raise the voice and visibility of AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) residents. This event is organized by BCAA (Belmont Chinese American Association) and sponsored by local businesses. Since its 2022 inauguration, Belmont AAPI Run has become one of three major community road races in Belmont, along with the well-established FBE Apple Run and the Becca Pizzi 5K. The AAPI Run has and will continue raising funds to support various AAPI events hosted by Belmont-based nonprofit organizations, including Belmont Chinese American Association (BCAA) and Belmont Celebrates AAPI Heritage (BCAH). This year, the funds raised from the AAPI Run will also support Belmont Media Center to broadcast Belmont public school events. 5K Race Route

(USATF Certified, Chip-timed) The 5K route for both running and walking is the same as the Becca Pizzi 5K route developed by the Belmont Police Department, which starts and ends on the BHS track and goes through the Winn Brook neighborhood. Children 10 years or under must be accompanied by an adult.

2K Race Route

(Chip-timed) The 2K route for both running and walking is the same as the FBE Apple Run 2K route developed by the Belmont Police Department, which starts and ends on the BHS track and goes through the Claypit Pond near Belmont High School. Children 10 years or under must be accompanied by an adult.

Race Day Schedule

• 8:00 AM - 8:45 AM: 5K bib pickup & race day registration
• 8:45 AM - 10:00 AM: 2K bib pickup & race day registration
• 8:45 AM: Warm-up by Bay State Physical Therapy
• 8:55 AM: National Anthem
• 9:00 AM: AAPI 5K
• 9:45 AM: Speech by Dr. Melita and 5K Award Ceremony
• 10:15 AM: AAPI 2K
• 10:40 AM: 2K Award Ceremony
• 11:00 AM: Event closes

Number Pick-Up

Pre-race packet pickup (including bib, race shirt, gift bag) is on Saturday, May 3rd, from 2 PM - 5 PM near the Belmont High School entrance. Race day bib pickup will take place at The Belmont High School Track from 8 AM to 8:45 AM for 5K, and 8 AM to 10 AM for 2K.

Awards

Top 3 finishers Male and Female in 5K race. Fastest 5K per age group per gender. Top 5 finishers Male and Female under 12 in 2K race. Largest Team in both 5K and 2K races. New: Top 3 fastest team (5K race only).

T-Shirt

The first 350 registered runners/walkers will be offered a superlight 'quick-dri' running shirt.

Registration Fee

• 5K: $30 through May 3rd, 2025. Day-of registration will be $40.
• 2K: $20 through May 3rd, 2025. Day-of registration will be $30.

Parking

The Belmont High School (BHS) Track is located on 291 Concord Avenue. Attention: NO PARKING in BHS Lot. Ample parking available in surrounding areas and in Claflin St. parking lot.

Porta Johns

Multiple Porta Johns are available right outside of the BHS track.

Race Day Medical Aid

Supported by Belmont Fire Department EMS Bike Unit. A first aid kit will be provided on site.

Post Race

Free bread, bagels, water, and bananas for all runners and spectators. One Moozy's ice cream sandwich for each kid runner under 18. Bay State Physical Therapy will offer FREE massage stretch until 11 AM.

Results available via a link, QR code on bib, or sent by message/email in real time.

Volunteer

Sign up to volunteer. Volunteers receive a FREE race T-shirt. Community Service hours awarded to student volunteers.
