2026 Air Force Marathon - 30th Anniversary

Join us for the 30th Anniversary of the Air Force Marathon, an iconic endurance event held annually on the third Saturday of September at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. Since its inception in 1997, this event has celebrated the service, strength, and spirit of the Air Force community.

In 2026, we mark 30 years of running, tradition, and pride. Experience an unforgettable weekend with a range of exciting events:

• Five event distances: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and the Tailwind Trot 1K Kids’ Run.
• New Divisions: RUCK division for 10K and Half Marathon races.
• AIM HIGH Challenge: Offers options for runners of all levels, combining the 5K with a Full Marathon, Half Marathon, or 10K. Earn shirts, finisher coins, and medals for each race completed, plus the coveted AIM HIGH Challenge medal.
• Team Registration: Available for groups of friends and family.

Our Boston Qualifying marathon course is steeped in historic aviation sites, taking runners through over 110 years of military airpower history. The finish line is at the National Museum of the United States Air Force.

In addition to the races, enjoy festivities including a two-day Health & Fitness Expo, a Gourmet Pasta Dinner, and a Finish Line Festival.
