The Amberly Sugar Rush is a community event supporting Special Olympics North Carolina. It offers both in-person and virtual race options, including a 5 Mile, 3 Mile, Fun Mile, and Kids in Strollers event.

In-Person Race Day Schedule:

• Mass start for Fun Mile at 9:00 AM
• Mass start for 3 Mile / 5 Mile at 9:15 AM
• Course closes for all races at 10:45 AM

Virtual Race Dates: October 24 - 31, 2026

Registration Details:

• 5 Mile: $40.00 - $55.00 (Price increases after March 13, 2026)
• 3 Mile: $30.00 - $45.00 (Price increases after March 13, 2026)
• Fun Mile: $20.00 - $35.00 (Price increases after March 13, 2026)
• Kids in Strollers: $5.00 (Registration ends October 30, 2026)
• Virtual 5 Mile: $35.00 (Registration ends October 29, 2026)
• Virtual 3 Mile: $35.00 (Registration ends October 29, 2026)
• Virtual Fun Mile: $35.00 (Registration ends October 29, 2026)
• Exhibitor: $100.00 (Registration ends October 29, 2026)

Prizes will be awarded for Best Costume and Best Family Costume as the race falls on Halloween.
