Andy Buschmann 4-Mile Classic

Race Information

The 48th Annual Classic, formerly known as the White River 4 Mile Classic and HealthSouth 4 Mile Classic, is now named in honor of Andy Buschmann, a dedicated local runner. Andy and his friend Jack Heston participated in every iteration of the race since its inception in 1978 until his passing in 2021 due to COVID-19. The AB4MC course is certified by USATF. Proceeds from the race are donated to local charities serving Independence County.

Parking: Ample parking is available at City Hall and in various lots throughout the Main Street area.

Start/Finish: The race commences at 8 am, starting and finishing on Main Street, with parking and setup located near City Hall.

Timing: Chip timing will be provided by OK Timing Plus.

Race Route: The course winds downhill through Batesville's historic residential and downtown districts, featuring a couple of significant climbs through adjacent neighborhoods mid-race.

Packet Pick Up

Early Packet Pickup: Available on Friday, June 5, 2025, from 5-7 pm in the parking lot at 500 E Main (Batesville Municipal Building).

Race Day Packet Pickup: Available at the same location starting at 6:30 am on Saturday, June 6, 2025. Early pickup is strongly encouraged!

Registration

Cost: $35. All runners and walkers will receive a race shirt.

Race day registration will be open from 6:30-7:30 am.

Policies

Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation, all entries will be deferred to the 2027 race. Refunds are not available.

Adverse Weather Policy: Events are expected to proceed rain or shine. However, participant safety is paramount. In cases of adverse weather conditions (Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, Heavy Rain, or other extreme conditions), the Race Director, in consultation with local law enforcement and the city, may delay, cancel, or alter the race course. Light to moderate rain is not considered an adverse weather condition.

Communication: Participants will be notified via the race website and email regarding any event cancellations. If canceled more than 12 hours prior, notification will be sent via website and email. If canceled less than 12 hours prior, participants will also be notified via email regarding race packet pickup if not already collected.

Awards

All finishers will receive a commemorative race goodie. Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female finishers, as well as the top 3 masters (40+) male and female. Additionally, awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in various age groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
