The Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run has been held since 1986. It is one of the original five 100-mile races and is a point-to-point course between Wrightwood and Altadena, with elevations ranging from 1,135 to 9,300 feet. Runners who participate in this race will cover 100 miles of the San Gabriel mountains, encountering steep climbs and rocky terrain along the way. The San Gabriel backcountry provides a stunning backdrop for the race and the course presents a challenge. For those who are up to the challenge, the 36th Annual AC100 offers the chance to test their limits on October 3, 2026.
Registration: The only way to register for the 2026 AC100 is through the Lottery. Lottery registration opens 9/19/25 and closes 9/29/25. 210 spots available via Lottery; remaining spots are reserved. Entrants List announced 10/03/25. Complete a 50+ mile qualifier between 01/01/25 and 9/3/26 (results published online). Trail Work due by 9/3/26.
Course Details: 100.2 miles from Wrightwood to Loma Alta Park, featuring approximately 21,610 feet of cumulative elevation gain. The 2026 course will bypass Chantry Flats. The race will pass through Shortcut, Redbox and Newcomb Saddle, but after Newcomb Saddle, it will go back on the Rincon-Redbox Rd to Redbox, from Redbox it will take the Gabrielino Trail to the Kenyon/Devore Trailhead on the Gabrielino Trail and take the Kenyon/Devore Trail to the top of Mt Wilson and on to Idlehour, Sam Merrill, Millard and Loma Alta Park in Altadena.
Awards: Completing the AC100 race is an outstanding accomplishment. Every finisher will be recognized with a personalized engraved plaque. Runners who complete the race in less than 33 hours will receive an official AC100 Finisher's tech t-shirt and a bronze buckle. Other awards include buckles for various finishing times and solo finishers.
