Asheville Catholic School's 19th Annual Shamrock 5K/Fun Run

Welcome to the 19th edition of the Asheville Catholic School Shamrock 5K/Fun Run. This beloved event returns on Saturday, March 14 to benefit the O’Brien and William Edward Gibbs Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Race Day Schedule

• Fun Run: 8:00 AM
• 5K: 8:30 AM

Registration & Entry Fees

Registration for the 2025 Shamrock 5K/Fun Run will begin on Monday, December 1. The 5K is capped at 650 total participants.

• December 1, 2024 - January 31, 2025: 5K - $35; Fun Run - $20
• February 1 - 28: 5K - $40; Fun Run - $20
• March 1 thru race day: 5K - $45; Fun Run - $20

Packet Pickup

• Friday, March 13 – 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM – ACS Common Area
• Saturday, March 14 - ACS Common Area
  • Fun Run: 7:00 AM - 7:45 AM
  • 5K: 7:00 AM - 8:15 AM (No registrations accepted after 8:15 AM)

Course Information

All races start and finish at Asheville Catholic School off Beaverdam Road in North Asheville.

• 5K Course: Approximately 3.1 miles, offering a fun and challenging run in the neighborhoods of North Asheville.
• Fun Run Course: Approximately 0.4 miles, taking runners up and back from St. Eugene’s Catholic Church on Culvern Street.

Additional Information

• All 5K runners and Fun Run participants will receive a custom race shirt.
• Fun Runners will also receive a fun prize at the finish line.
• Bag Drop service available.
• Donations can be made to the O’Brien and William Edward Gibbs Memorial Scholarship Fund.
• Dogs are not allowed at the event.
• Post-race snacks and bottled water will be available. Adults 21+ may receive one beer from Sugar Creek Brewing.

Awards

5K awards ceremony at approximately 9:45 AM. Special prizes for top three overall male/female and top three masters male/female. Age group awards also presented.

Timing

The 5K race will utilize chip timing. Bibs should be worn on the front of clothing.

Parking

Limited parking at Asheville Catholic School. Additional parking available at St. Eugene Catholic Church, Former Steinmart parking lot, Jones Elementary School, Asbury United Methodist Church, and Grace Episcopal Church. Please hide valuables.

Cancellations/Transfers

Asheville Catholic School has a NO REFUND/NO DEFERRAL policy. Transfers are allowed via Race Roster until Thursday, March 12 at 9:00 PM EST.
