The Bear Trap Trail Races feature 3 unique loops designed to showcase the beauty and challenge of Settlement Canyon. Runners will experience forested singletrack, dirt roads, and ridgeline trails with stunning views of Tooele Valley and surrounding peaks. The event is USATF sanctioned.

The Course Layout

The event consists of 3 unique loops (A, B, and C) returning to the Start/Finish Area aid station after each loop. Runners are advised to carry adequate hydration and gear for inclement weather.

• Loop A (PURPLE Course Markings): Approx. 6.20 miles, ~1,800 ft vert (87% single-track).
• Loop B (BLUE Course Markings): Approx. 8.6 miles, ~1,700 ft vert (78% single-track).
• Loop C (RED Course Markings): Approx. 8.2 miles, ~1,600 ft vert (67% double-track).

Marathon Course

Consists of Loops A, B, & C, including a 3.5-mile out-and-back summit of 9,600' Tooele Peak. Total Mileage: ~26.5 miles. Total Vert: ~8,000 ft. Hard Cutoff: 9 hours.

23k Course

Consists of Loops A & B. Total Mileage: ~14.8 miles (23k). Total Vert: ~3,500 ft. Hard Cutoff: 5 hours.

10k Course

Consists of Loop A. Total Mileage: ~6.2 miles (10k). Total Vert: ~1,800 ft. Hard Cutoff: 2 hours.

Race Simply focuses on the course experience, offering low prices without gimmicky extras. Modest awards for the top three men & women in each distance.
