Seventeen years ago, a movement was born. Seventeen years later, we are STILL running strong. 💪🏾 From first 5Ks to full marathons… From sister circles to national meetups… From a vision to a legacy… We’re celebrating 17 years of miles, melanin, and movement with our official anniversary virtual challenge: This is more than a run. It’s a celebration of:

For 17 years, we’ve changed the narrative around what a runner looks like — and we’re just getting started. Let’s show the world what 17 years of consistency, community, and confidence looks like.

New Gear Options!

Choose one of the gear options included with your registration or upgrade to a backpack or messenger bag. All participants receive a challenge medal! Here's how it works... Register for the challenge. The cost is $45 (includes shipping) for a shirt with the option to upgrade. Once you finish your challenge, we'll ship your gear right to your door. Just want the gear? Click Register and choose "Gear Only".

Join the Black Girls Run Strava club. We'll send instructions in your confirmation email. Encouraging, reminiscing, and friendly trash-talking is permitted and encouraged.

How it Works

Run or walk each week! Upload as many activities as you want to reach your goal. The challenge runs from 4/1/2026 to 4/30/2026. Submit your activities each week into the Virtual Results. See the chart below for more information.

Cross your fingers! Each week on Monday we'll pick a random winner to win a prize. Weekly prizes are randomly chosen, not based on performance. You must upload your results before Sunday at midnight to be eligible for the weekly prize!

One month. One goal. Submit ALL of your runs, walks or hikes to reach your challenge goal.
