Sassquad Trail Running and the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference present the Big Bear SquaTCh South at Harriman State Park. Join us on SUNDAY, October 18, 2026, for a trail half marathon and 10K on a single loop course. Your registration helps the Trail Conference maintain trails.

Mountain Madness Series: This event is a qualifier for the Mountain Madness Series.

Trail Party Details:

• Start/Finish: Powerhouse Park, 57 Powerhouse Lane, Tuxedo, NY 10987 ($3 parking fee for Tuxedo Commuter Lot).
• Start Times: 9:15am-9:45am Check-in, 10am 13.1M Start, 10:15am 10K Start.
• Cut-offs: 13.1M Aid Station Cutoffs at Mile 4.75 (11:45am) and Mile 9.5 (1:45pm). Finish line cutoff for both events: 3pm (5 hours).
• Pacing: 13.1M requires ~22:54 min/mile pace. 10K requires ~38:42 min/mile pace.
• Swag: Buffs, hats, travel mugs, beach towels available.
• Pacers: Available for participants over 60 and AWD (athletes with disabilities).

Course Description:

• Half Marathon: 2,200+ ft cumulative gain, very technical with rocks, roots, steep climbs, rocky cliffs, and a short scramble.
• 10K: Over 1,200 ft vertical gain, also very technical.

Hardship Entries: Available for those experiencing financial hardship.

Squatch Kids Club: Discount codes available for youth and families. Not recommended for kids under 16.

Discounts: Offered for active duty military, Veterans, hospital workers, teachers, seniors (60+), NY-NJ Trail Conference members, and South Mountain Conservancy members.

Trail Mix Fund: Apply for waived registration fees if you are part of the BIPOC or LGBTQ+ community or experiencing financial hardship.

Refunds/Deferrals: No refunds. Deferrals available under specific conditions (injury, volunteering, etc.).

Pregnancy, Adoption, & Postpartum Policy: Deferrals up to three years available.
