The Big Chief Tire One Mile Championships are BACK! Presented by PRS Running Club, this iconic race returns for its 12th year, bringing speed, competition, and pure mile magic back to Jacksonville. The Big Chief Mile has a proven legacy of fast times and unforgettable finishes. Now in 2026, we return to the Fishweir Brewing venue with a fast, spectator-friendly course built for bold racing and new records. Flat, quick, and electric — this is a mile designed to fly. To keep racing tight and competitive, the event will feature multiple waves, allowing athletes to select the wave that fits their ability and racing goals. Whether you’re chasing a PR, lining up for your first mile, or just here for the vibes, there’s a place for you. Any pace. Any ability. Any age. If you love racing, this is your mile. About The Race

Racing for everyone — not just the front pack. The Big Chief Tire One Mile Championships will be run in multiple competitive waves, giving athletes of all levels and abilities a real shot at racing hard and taking home an award.

• Trucker Hats: All participants receive an exclusive Big Chief Mile Trucker Hat.
• Timing: The race will be chip-timed by Second Wind Race Timing.
• Post-Race Party: Join us for an epic post-race party at Fishweir Brewery.

Race Divisions

• Men’s Open Division: Open to any male running a 6:00 mile or slower. Awards: Overall & age-group awards.
• Men’s Clydesdale Division: Open to any male running a 6:00 mile or slower and weighing 200 lbs or more. Awards: Overall awards.
• Women’s Open Division: Open to any female running a 6:30 mile or slower. Awards: Overall & age-group awards.
• Women’s Athena Division: Open to any female running a 6:30 mile or slower and weighing 165 lbs or more. Awards: Overall awards.
• Kids Division: Open to anyone 15 years and under. Awards: Medals for every finisher.
• Men’s Championship Division: Any male capable of running a 5:59 mile or faster. Awards: Cash prizes.
• Women’s Championship Division: Any female capable of running a 6:30 mile or faster. Awards: Cash prizes.
• CHUG Relay Division: Anyone 21+ (valid ID required). A 4-person relay where each athlete runs one lap then chugs a provided beverage.

Runner Amenities

• Trucker Hats: All runners registered prior to April 1, 2024 are guaranteed a hat.
• Beverages & Awards: All participants receive one complimentary beverage from Fishweir Brewery. Awards pickup and free beverage available for a week after the event.

Race Awards

• Men's Open Division: Beach Towels for Top 3 Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, and age groups.
• Women's Open Division: Beach Towels for Top 3 Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, and age groups.
• Clydesdale Division: Beach Towels for Top 3 Overall.
• Athena Division: Beach Towels for Top 3 Overall.
• Kids Division: Medals for every finisher, and PIZZA!
• Men's Championship Division: Cash awards for Overall 1st ($250), 2nd ($100), 3rd ($50); Masters 1st ($200); Age Graded Money 1st ($250).
• Women's Championship Division: Cash awards for Overall 1st ($250), 2nd ($100), 3rd ($50); Masters 1st ($200); Age Graded Money 1st ($250).
• Beer Mile Division: Beer Steins for Top 3 Overall.
• Mimosa Mile Division: Champagne Flutes for Top 3 Overall.

Event Schedule

• Day of Race: Packet, Bib, & Chip Pickup (3:15pm - 15 mins prior to start), Day of Race Registration (3:15pm - 30 mins prior to start), Awards Ceremony at Fishweir Brewery (6:45pm).
• Race Start Times: 5:00pm (Men's Open & Clydesdale), 5:20pm (Women's Open & Athena), 5:40pm (Kids Race), 6:00pm (Men's & Women's Championship), 6:20pm (Chug Relays), 7:00pm (Post Race Festivities and Awards).

This year's event will be part of the USATF Florida Association 1 Mile Open and Masters Championships. To be eligible, one must have a valid USATF membership and pay a $5 fee.
