The Big Chief Tire One Mile Championships are BACK! Presented by PRS Running Club, this iconic race returns for its 12th year, bringing speed, competition, and pure mile magic back to Jacksonville. The Big Chief Mile has a proven legacy of fast times and unforgettable finishes. Now in 2026, we return to the Fishweir Brewing venue with a fast, spectator-friendly course built for bold racing and new records. Flat, quick, and electric — this is a mile designed to fly. To keep racing tight and competitive, the event will feature multiple waves, allowing athletes to select the wave that fits their ability and racing goals. Whether you’re chasing a PR, lining up for your first mile, or just here for the vibes, there’s a place for you. Any pace. Any ability. Any age. If you love racing, this is your mile. About The Race

Racing for everyone — not just the front pack. The Big Chief Tire One Mile Championships will be run in multiple competitive waves, giving athletes of all levels and abilities a real shot at racing hard and taking home an award.

• Trucker Hats: All runners registered prior to April 1, 2024 are guaranteed to receive a Trucker Hat of their requested size. All runners registering after April 1, 2024 will receive a hat as supplies permit.
• Beverages & Awards: All participants will receive one complimentary beverage of their choice from Fishweir Brewery including beer for participants of legal drinking age with a valid ID. Awards pickup and free beverage will be available for an entire week after the event.
• Chip-Timed: The race will be chip-timed by North Florida’s premier timing company, Second Wind Race Timing, ensuring accurate results down to the hundredth of a second.
• Post-Race Party: Join us for an epic post-race party at Fishweir Brewery, right at the heart of the action.

Race Divisions

• Men’s Open Division: Open to any male running a 6:00 mile or slower. Awards: Overall & age-group awards.
• Men’s Clydesdale Division: Open to any male running a 6:00 mile or slower and weighing 200 lbs or more. Awards: Overall awards.
• Women’s Open Division: Open to any female running a 6:30 mile or slower. Awards: Overall & age-group awards.
• Women’s Athena Division: Open to any female running a 6:30 mile or slower and weighing 165 lbs or more. Awards: Overall awards.
• Kids Division: Open to anyone 15 years and under. Awards: Medals for every finisher.
• Men’s Championship Division: Any male capable of running a 5:59 mile or faster. Awards: Cash prizes.
• Women's Championship Division: Any female capable of running a 6:30 mile or faster. Awards: Cash prizes.
• CHUG Relay Division: Anyone 21+ (valid ID required). A 4-person relay where each athlete runs one lap then chugs the provided beverage. Awards: Bragging rights guaranteed.

• 3:15pm to 15 minutes prior to the start of the race - Packet, Bib, & Chip Pickup
• 3:15pm to 30 minutes prior to the start of the race - Day of Race Registration
• 6:45pm At Fishweir Brewery - Awards Ceremony

Race Start Times:

• 5:00pm - Men's Open Division & Men's Clydesdale Division
• 5:20pm - Women's Open Division & Women's Athena Division
• 5:40pm - Kids Race
• 6:00pm - Men's Championship Division/Women's Championship Division
• 6:20pm - Chug Relays
• 7:00pm - Post Race Festivities and Awards

USATF Florida Association 1 Mile Open and Masters Championships: This year's event will be part of the USATF Florida Association 1 Mile Open and Masters Championships. Overall 1-2-3 M&F awards will be given as well as age group 1st-3rd Medals. All USATF runners will be scored together regardless of which event wave they race in. To be eligible one must have a valid USATF membership, and also pay a $5 fee for the USATF Florida Association 1 Mile & Masters Championship.

Race Course: 1M Course (2 Lap)

Packet Pickup: Participants may pickup their packets at the race during the times listed on the Event Schedule at the event at Fishweir Brewing Company.

Donations benefit Wolfson Children’s Hospital’s cancer care program, supporting research, recruitment and technology.
