Buckeye Trail Blue Blaze Festival

September 25-26, 2026 in Shawnee, Ohio, celebrating the Buckeye Trail.

Join us to get outdoors to Run, Hike, Learn and Explore on National Public Lands Day.

Trail Runs - Half Marathon, 10K & 5K

• Half Marathon: Price: $45. Time: 9:00AM EDT. Price increases after July 15, 2026.
• 10K: Price: $30. Time: 9:00AM EDT. Price increases after July 15, 2026.
• 5K Run/Walk: Price: $25. Time: 9:15AM EDT. Price increases after July 15, 2026.

The Half Marathon and 10K runs will use the Buckeye Trail with an out and back course. The 5K course will be a looped course. All running events will be chip timed.

10 Mile Hike

• Price: $20. Time: 8:00AM EDT. 60 spots left. Price increases after July 15, 2026.

The hike route will follow much of the course used with the 10K and Half Marathon, going around Tecumseh Lake and Upper Rock Run Lake. A guide to historical sites will be provided.

Backpacking Workshop

Orientation on Friday, starting at 11:00am, leaving for the trail by early afternoon and returning to Shawnee on Saturday. Registration details to be announced.

Event Schedule

• Friday: Packet Pickup, Presentations, Live Music. Backpackers depart for the trail at 4:00 PM.
• Saturday: Hikers leave at 8:00 AM. Half Marathon & 10K start at 9:00 AM. 5K starts at 9:15 AM.
