Buzz Sawyer Western Maryland Marathon/Half Marathon/10k

The Buzz Sawyer Western Maryland Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K is set for Sunday October 18th, 2026. This race takes place in its entirety on the fantastic Western Maryland Rail Trail (WMRT) located in Western Maryland. The race start/finish is located in the wonderful town of Hancock.

The marathon and half marathon courses are USATF Certified Courses and a good Boston qualifying course.

Race Schedule:

• Marathon start: 7:30 AM EDT
• Half Marathon start: 8:00 AM EDT
• 10K start: 8:15 AM EDT

Start/Finish Location: Western Maryland Rail Trail, just north of C&O Bicycle at 9 S Pennsylvania Ave Hancock, MD 21750.

Course Information: Participants will run/walk 6.56 miles Southwest (towards Little Orleans) before turning around and traveling 6.56 miles back to the start/finish line. Marathon Participants will complete this out-and-back loop twice. 10k participants will run in the same Southwest direction but will turn around after 3.11 miles on the course and head back to the start/finish line.

Packet Pick-up: Saturday, October 17: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. @ Buddylou's Sunday, October 18: 6:45 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Start/Finish Line C&O Bicycle at 9 S Pennsylvania Ave Hancock, MD 21750.
