The 17th annual Caliente Bare Dare 5K is the premier clothing-optional race in North America, held at the beautiful Caliente Resort, the most upscale clothing-optional destination in the USA. Make a promise to yourself this year to finally run North America's biggest bucket-list, destination race, party event in endurance sports. The Caliente Bare Dare 5K is the hottest race in Florida! Not literally as early spring temperatures in the Tampa area are ideal for running. Caliente is Spanish for "hot" and this is one event where you can leave the running clothes at home and spend the day at the most upscale clothing-optional resort in North America -- all for the price of your 5K entry fee. This annual event, which began in 2010, has become one of the most talked about among Florida runners. We offer a scenic one-loop course among the beautiful gated community of Caliente, along with custom awards for the top 20 female and top 20 male finishers. We welcome runners of all levels - you can even walk the event - but the race attracts elite athletes. The course records of 15:49 (male) and 17:57 (female) are comparable to those of much larger races. The race is just the beginning of your day at Caliente. Wear as much or as little as you like for the race - shoes required and sunscreen highly recommended - and then spend the rest of the day at this destination resort. Sundays are always a good time at Caliente, with music played poolside and the party goes on all day. Caliente is located in Land O'Lakes, Fla., just north of Tampa in Pasco County, known as Florida's Sports Coast for its many sports and recreation attractions and events. Caliente features a 30,000-square-foot clubhouse with four bars, nightclub, and fitness center. Its massive lagoon-style pool with waterfall is the centerpiece of a Caribbean-style resort that includes three other pools. The 5K course wraps around Caliente's beautiful grounds, along running trails and lakes before you cross the finish line at the foot of the Caliente clubhouse. A post-race celebration will begin shortly thereafter alongside Caliente's massive lagoon pool!
