Cry Me A River! Cry Me A River! Trail Runs is more than a race — it’s a full weekend of gritty climbs, wooded ridges, and deep trail community vibes in the Illinois River Valley. Held at Camp Wokanda just outside Peoria, this event features a choose-your-own-challenge format with distances from half marathon to 100 miles. Whether you're chasing your first ultra or stacking loop after loop into the night, you’ll be tested by relentless elevation and rewarded with unforgettable views.

Courses

• 50K: The 50K course starts and finishes at Camp Wokanda and sends runners onto rugged singletrack through wooded ravines and bluff trails overlooking the Illinois River Valley. Expect frequent climbs and descents, rooty footing, and repeated returns to camp that make pacing and fueling especially important.
• 100K: The 100K builds on the 50K layout with additional miles between Camp Wokanda and Detweiller Park. This extended ultra delivers sustained elevation changes and long stretches of technical trail, rewarding patience and steady effort while challenging runners to manage fatigue over multiple loops.
• 100 Miles: The 100-mile course is a true test of endurance, beginning with a short loop at Camp Wokanda followed by five demanding out-and-back segments to Detweiller Park. With roughly 23,500 feet of total elevation gain, runners will tackle relentless climbs, steep descents, and familiar terrain again and again as they push through day, night, and back into daylight.
