Crystal Springs Ultra Races - August 8, 2026

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Crystal Springs Recreation Area in the Town of Wytheville, Virginia, the event showcases the breathtaking landscapes and diverse terrain of the High Rocks Spur Trail and Boundary Trail loop among others. These trails are technical in some areas and sure to bring you a challenge no matter your level of training.

Distances

This is a loop course.

• 12 hour and 6 hour options: One loop equals 12.8 miles with 2,008 ft of elevation gain.
• 3 hour option (aka Crystal Light): One loop is the Crystal Springs Loop with 2.1 miles and 351 ft of elevation gain that features a waterfall when we have had enough rain in the area.
• The Leftovers Option: A stripped-down, no-frills entry for $25, includes entry to run any course, a leftover medal, and a leftover bib. Limited to 10 runners.

Schedule

• 6:00 am: Start for 12 hour (6:00 pm cutoff)
• 8:00 am: Start for 6 hour, 3 hour (Crystal Light), and The Leftovers Option (5:00 pm cutoff for 6 hour and 3 hour)

Important Details

• Shuttle Required: Parking is limited at the start line. A shuttle service will run from 180 Pump Hollow Road, Wytheville, VA 24382.
• Cupless Race: Participants must carry their own collapsible cup or bottle.
• Aid Stations: Offer PB&J sandwiches, bananas, pretzels, oreos, hard candy, limited gels, and hot foods at select stations.
• Packet Pickup: Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Seven Sisters Brewery (355 E Main St, Wytheville, VA 24382).
• No Refunds: Entry fees are non-refundable. Transfers are allowed under certain conditions.
