Devil Mountain Run 5K/10K/Mile-of-Truth/ Buddi Love Mile/ Free Kids Fun Run

The 46th annual Devil Mountain Run (DMR) takes place on Sunday, May 3, 2026. This event is a favorite in Downtown Danville, celebrating 46 years. Participants can expect a customized Finisher Medal for all runners, and the first 1000 registered/paid runners will receive free tech shirts. Cash prizes are available for the top winners of the Mile of Truth, and overall and age group awards will be given for the 5K and 10K races. The Mile of Truth is a PAUSATF grand prix championship event. The event also features a Free Kids Fun Run and the popular Buddi Love Mile, making it an event for the entire family.

Timeline of Events:

• 6:30 a.m.: Day-of Registration and Vendor Expo open, Packet Pickup
• 8:00 a.m.: Start of 10K
• 8:05 a.m.: Start of 5K
• 9:00 a.m.: 5K AWARDS
• 9:15 a.m.: Start of the Mile of Truth (multiple heats)
• 10:15 a.m.: Start of the Buddi Love Dog Mile
• 10:30 a.m.: Start of Kids Free Fun Run
• 10:30 a.m.: 10K and Mile of Truth Awards
• 12:00 p.m.: Vendor Expo area wrap-up

Course Descriptions:

• 5K: USATF certified course starting on Railroad Ave, heading South to Hartz Way, then North along Danville Blvd to Wayne Ave, and finishing on the Iron Horse Trail.
• 10K: USATF certified course starting on Railroad Ave, heading South to San Ramon Valley Blvd, onto the Iron Horse Trail South to Sycamore Valley Rd, then Camino Ramon South to Fostoria Way, and back onto the Iron Horse Trail to the finish.
• Mile of Truth: USATF certified course starting on Railroad Avenue at Church St, heading north on Railroad, right on W. Prospect Ave, right on Hartz Ave, south on Hartz Ave, right on School St, right back onto Railroad Ave for two laps.
• Buddi Love Dog Mile: Follows the same course as the Mile of Truth.
• Free Kid's Fun Run: Start/finish line on Railroad Avenue. Distances vary by age group (8-10: 1/4 mile, 5-7: 200 yards, 4 & under: 100 yards).

Athlete Support:

Mile markers, water stations at start, finish, and along the course. Secure Athlete Bag-Drop available.

Directions & Parking:

Directions provided from I-680. Parking available off Railroad Ave and San Ramon Valley Blvd.

Packet Pickup:

Pre-race packet pickup available Friday and Saturday at Forward Motion Sports. Day-of registration and bib pick-up at Lunardi's, 345 Railroad Ave, Danville.

T-SHIRTS:

First 1000 registered and paid runners receive a tech shirt. No t-shirts for the free kids race.

DOGS AND STROLLER POLICY:

Dogs and strollers/baby joggers allowed in the 5K event only. Participants with dogs and strollers must line up at the back. Dogs must be leashed and well-socialized. Owners must pick up after their dogs.
