Downtown Mile for CASA

Heroes and villains get ready to race! This year's Family Fun Wave is once again a "Superhero Run." Please join in the virtual RUN/WALK challenge. Virtual participants will be able to compete by logging the most miles between June 01, 2025, and September 18th, 2026. Please join us and support Rappahannock Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) on Saturday, September 19th, 2026. All proceeds will benefit the Rappahannock Area CASA, a local non-profit organization that supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home, and have the opportunity to thrive. Visit rappahannockcasa.com for more information. This is a fun, downtown evening race with a fun post-race atmosphere.

The Downtown Mile for CASA is the 8th race in the Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix Series. All finishers will receive points toward the 12-race series.

Location:

Charles Street, Downtown Fredericksburg

Race Waves:

• 6:00 pm - Wave 1 Females ages 15 and up
• 6:15 pm - Wave 2 Males ages 15 and up
• 6:30 pm - Wave 3 Youth ages 6-14
• 6:45 pm - Superhero Run (Open to all ages, families, parents with strollers, walking participants, etc.)

Shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by August 20, 2025.

Packet Pickup:

• Friday, September 5th from 4-6 pm at Lucky Road Run Shop, 1865 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
• Race Day from 4:30-6 pm

Race Day Registration and packet pickup will be held from 4:30 - 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Awards:

• Overall, Females in wave 1 and Males in wave 2: 1st place - $100, 2nd place - $75, 3rd place - $50
• 1st Master (40 and over, not in top three) - $50
• New Event Record Bonuses - $100 for the first male in wave 2 finishing faster than 4:17 and the first female in wave 1 finishing faster than 5:07.
• Age Group Awards
• Medals will be given to finishers in the third and fourth waves.

CASA Run/Walk Challenge:

This is a separate virtual event that precedes the in-person race on September 6, 2025. You can join an existing Run/Walk team or form your own. Between June 1, 2025, and September 5, 2025, you will record the total mileage you run and walk, as well as the total time spent covering the distance. Before September 6, 2025, please input that information by clicking your personal icon in the upper right and going to your profile.
