Salt City Trail Racing, in partnership with Green Lakes State Park, is pleased to announce the 8th annual English's Ridge Rumble, the first event of our 2025 race series. Prices increase after December 1, 2024 and then again on January 1, 2025. Runners who register after March 12, 2025 are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

The most visited of all New York State Parks, Green Lakes is named for the striking blue green color of its two meromictic lakes, a rare phenomenon in which the top, middle, and bottom layers of water do not mix. This course will hit many of the prettiest and challenging corners of the park, including The Serengeti, Round Lake, the Powerline Bypass, and Quarry Hill. In between, you'll find yourself amidst open fields with sweeping vistas and towering old growth forest.

The English's Ridge Rumble is named for race founder Scott English and is a USATF-sanctioned event.

Race Details

English's Ridge Rumble traditionally takes place in mid-April, which means conditions could be snowy and cold or sunny and warm, so it's up to you to be prepared for whatever the CNY weather brings us on race day. The course is an approximately 10 mile loop with about 1,300 feet of elevation gain, with varied trail including some technical (rocks and roots) sections, though the majority is double-track made up of either mulch beds, gravel, or grass and a small portion of paved park road.

By popular demand, we are returning to wave starts in 2025 with the Start/Finish at the Reserve Picnic Shelter Pavilion by the Frisbee Lot as in 2024.
