About the Event

Welcome to the Falcon 50 Race Series

Join us for the annual Falcon 50 Race Series, featuring five distinct race distances: Half-Marathon, Military Half-Heavy, Marathon, Military Heavy, and the challenging 50 Miler. This event, founded in 2011, takes place on the scenic and demanding dirt trails of the Air Force Academy Reservation and surrounding mountains, with some sections offering a choice of paved roads or dirt shoulders.

  • Race Date: April 25, 2026
  • Location: Stillman Field, USAF Academy, Colorado Springs, CO
  • Registration Closes: April 18, 2026, at 11:59 PM MT
  • Price Increase: Registration prices will increase by $10 on April 1st.
  • Shirt Guarantee: Register before April 1st to be guaranteed a race shirt.
  • No Late or Race Day Registration: Please note that late or race day registration will not be offered.

Start Times

  • 06:00 AM: 50 Miler
  • 06:30 AM: Military Heavy
  • 07:00 AM: Marathon
  • 07:30 AM: Military Half-Heavy
  • 08:00 AM: Half Marathon

All runners must complete their race before official sunset. Aid stations are located approximately every 4-5 miles, stocked with water, Gatorade, and snacks. Participants in Military Heavy events are required to carry at least 35 pounds of non-consumption weight in their rucks.

Course Information

The course starts at Stillman Field for all events and runs counter-clockwise. The Half-Marathon and Military Half-Heavy are out-and-back routes on the first 6.55 miles of the marathon course. The Marathon, Military Heavy, and 50 Miler (two loops of the 50-mile course) offer challenging terrain designed to test your determination.
