The Kiwanis Club of Galena is hosting its 7th annual River Trail Run. Funds raised will support grants for organizations assisting children in the Galena community. More information on grant applications is available on the Galena Kiwanis website: kiwanisclubofgalena.com.

Events:

• 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles): Start Time: 10:00 AM CDT
• 10K Run (6.2 miles): Start Time: 10:10 AM CDT

Registration & Pricing:

• November 17, 2025 - December 31, 2025: $35
• January 1, 2026 - February 28, 2026: $40
• March 1, 2026 - April 17, 2026: $45
• Day of Race (April 18, 2026): $50

Online registration closes April 16, 2026, at midnight. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before April 6, 2026. All registrations are final; no refunds.

The Course:

The Galena River Trail is a scenic, forested, out-and-back course starting at Depot Park. It features crushed limestone with some asphalt pavement, primarily flat with rolling inclines. Strollers and dogs are not permitted during the race.

Packet Pick-Up:

• Friday, April 17: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
• Saturday, April 18: 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM

Pick-up location: Tent under the bridge at Depot Park.

Awards:

Prizes for overall male and female winners, and age-group winners in both the 5K and 10K races. Medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in all age groups and overall. Participants 12 and under who do not medal receive a ribbon.

Weather:

Races will be held rain or shine, unless dangerous conditions (e.g., lightning, severe flooding) require cancellation.
