The Gleaners Community Food Bank is excited to announce the 2nd annual Hunger Free Summer 5K Run and Walk! With the support of our incredible community, Gleaners continues to work toward our mission of creating a food-secure Southeast Michigan. Please join us as we come together to race toward a food-secure community on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Freedom River in Brighton, Michigan.

Race Day Schedule
Saturday, June 20th - 2026
7:00 AM: Check in/on-site registration
8:30 AM: 5k Run/Walk begins
8:35 AM: 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins
Immediately following the events - Post race awards and refreshments

Courses and prices:
5K Run: 3.1 Miles, Prices: $30.00 (early registration), $35.00 (after 6/07), $40.00 (race day)
1 Mile Fun Run/Walk: 1 Mile, Prices: $25.00 (early registration), $30.00 (after 6/07), $35.00 (race day)

Awards: Running Lab gift certificates to the Overall Male and Female finishers and Overall Master Male and Female Winners. Awards to the top 3 in age groups (male and female) 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Team awards: Award for the Largest Team, the Most Spirited Team, and the Largest Fundraising Team.

Early Packet Pickup: June 18 | 4:00-7:00 PM, The Running Lab | 409 W Main St, Brighton, MI 48116
Race Day Packet Pickup: June 20 | 7:00 AM, Race Location - Freedom River | 6716 Winans Lake Rd. Brighton, MI 48116

Course: Cross country type course including trails, fields, pavement with slight hills. Race is chipped timed.
