The Great Olympic Adventure Trail Run (GOAT Run) is a trail 50K, marathon & half marathon that traverses Kelly Ridge between the Olympic National Park and the Strait of Juan de Fuca in Washington State.
The route follows the single track Adventure Trail for the majority of the course, plus some unpaved forest road mixed in, and less than a mile on pavement. The finish line is in Olympic National Park at the deep, glacially carved Lake Crescent, famous for its turquoise blue waters.
The course reaches a maximum elevation of 1,619 feet, with a cumulative elevation gain of 1500 ft for the half, 3500 ft for the marathon, and 3700 ft for the 50K. Challenging? Absolutely! This event offers an epic outdoor experience in the far northwest corner of the country.
All runners receive a professional well-organized event, a well-marked course, food and snacks at water stations, a piece of custom race swag, free shuttle to start, chip timing, and access to an after-party at Log Cabin Resort.
Starting in 2024, the GOAT Run will be a cupless race, encouraging participants to carry their own hydration vessels to reduce waste.
A portion of race proceeds is donated to the Peninsula Trails Coalition and the Peninsula Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Washington for their extensive work on trail maintenance.
