Experience one of Detroit’s favorite fall races at the 13th Annual Growler Gallop Atwater 10 Mile & 5K on September 27, 2026. This race brings together the energy of downtown Detroit, the beauty of the Detroit Riverwalk and Belle Isle, and the unbeatable atmosphere of finishing at Atwater Brewery with friends, family, and the running community.

Whether you’re chasing a PR on the USATF-certified 10 Mile, running your first Detroit 5K, or walking with a stroller, Growler Gallop offers a course and celebration for everyone. The 10 Mile delivers fast, scenic miles along the Riverwalk and around Belle Isle, while the flat 5K follows the Riverwalk with a turnaround before the Belle Isle Bridge. Participants receive chip timing, race-day photography, a post-race beer (21+), and—depending on registration level—a hoodie and medal that form part of the Trivium Michigan Mega Medal Series.   • 1:30-3:40 pm: Registration and packet pickup at Atwater Brewery
  • 3:55 pm: 10 Mile Chariot Division start
  • 4:00 pm: 10 Mile start
  • 4:10 pm: 5K Chariot Division start
  • 4:15 pm: 5K start
  • 6:00 pm: Awards for 10 Mile and 5K
  • 6:30 pm: Course closes

What's Included in Registration?

Registration Includes: Growler Gallop hoodie*, finisher's medal, two beer tickets for Atwater craft beer, post-race food, race day photos, the opportunity to win awards (kegs, growlers/howlers, and cash prizes), and more! There is also an Economy Package where you can skip the race swag and save some cash.

Awards

The top 3 Overall Male and Female finishers in the 10 Miler distance will win cash prizes of $150, $100, & $75, respectively. Age Group awards include growler and howlers filled with Atwater's finest beer! (21+).
