About the Event

A SAFE-DRIVING INITIATIVE

The Hummingbird Run is a fun family event to promote safe driving. Created to honor the memory of Elizabeth Giordano, who lost her life in a distracted driving crash, this event brings the community together to commit to driving responsibly.

TIME, LOCATION, EVENT INFO

This year marks the Hummingbird Run's tenth year and will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, during National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, at the Crackerbarrel Fairgrounds on Emerald Street in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Free parking is available on site. Pre-race activities and warm-ups will start about 9:15 a.m. and the race will start at 10 a.m. You can register to run the 5K or 10K, or walk the 5K. Please note this is a family event and the course is not USATF certified. The course is on flat, suburban roads. It will be held rain or shine.

ONLINE and IN-PERSON REGISTRATION

Online race registration will close the evening of Friday, April 24. In-person registration for new registrants will be available at the Crackerbarrel Fairgrounds from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. On Race Day, Sunday, April 26, you may register at the Fairgrounds starting at 8 a.m.

BIB PICK-UP

Participants who pre-register here may pick up their race bib the day before the race from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Crackerbarrel Fairgrounds, or prior to the race on Sunday, April 26, beginning at 8 a.m.

MEDALS

Medals will be awarded after the race for the 5K run and 10K run by selected age groups and by gender. Gender and age information is collected for this purpose.

RACE DAY ACTIVITIES

Race Day activities for the whole family include fun entertainment, an exciting raffle, yummy food, a brief schedule with several speakers, and beautiful medals for winning participants in selected categories. Strollers and leashed pets are welcome. Free t-shirts and goodie bags will be provided for the first 200 registrants!

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

This event is organized by the Elizabeth K Giordano Scholarship Fund, which manages several scholarships. We will award several $1,000 scholarships at the race from a drawing of all participating High School Seniors. Must be present to win. When registering online here, High School Seniors should choose one of the categories specifically marked for High School Seniors to ensure they will be included in the drawing.
