About the Event
Please join in supporting the Kristina Chesterman Memorial Clinic in Nigeria by participating in, or cheering on the 10K run. Kristina Chesterman was a vibrant and compassionate nursing student at California State University, Chico. Tragically, in September 2013, her life was cut short when she was struck by a drunk driver while riding her bike.
Despite her untimely passing, Kristina's spirit of generosity continues to inspire many. As an organ donor, she saved the lives of five individuals, and one baby who received portions of her liver and a 64-year-old woman who received her heart.
In her honor, the Kristina Chesterman Memorial Foundation was established to support nursing students and public health initiatives in underserved communities. One of its significant achievements is the Kristina Chesterman Memorial Clinic in rural Nigeria, which opened in 2019. This clinic provides essential medical care to a community in great need, fulfilling Kristina's dream of making a global impact through nursing.
