Lone Star Night Run

Race Overview

The Lone Star Night Run is a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon run & 10K RUCK held on Lake Mineral Wells State Park's Trailway in the foothills of North Texas. The course is open and paved with soft fine gravel. The race follows an out & back course beginning and ending at the Weatherford Trailhead.

Course Overview

• Surface: Soft fine gravel, open trail.
• Course: Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway
• Elevation: Relatively flat with a slight incline out and downhill to the finish.
• Location: Weatherford Trailhead for Lake Mineral Wells Trailway
• Weather: Approximately 75-85 degrees in nighttime September weather.

Texas Summer Night Series

This race is a part of the Texas Summer Night Series. The 2026 "Texas Summer Night Series" spans all across Texas. Complete 3 out of the 8 races in the series to complete it. Anyone who completes 3/8 runs in this series receives all 3 collectible medals

Location and Times

The start and finish are located at the Weatherford Trailhead for Lake Mineral Wells Trailway. Overflow parking will take place a mile down the road at the Cartwright Park soccer fields where a shuttle will transport runners to the start line and back when they finish.

• Saturday Shuttle Begins - 6:30PM
• Packet pickup - 6:30PM to 8:30PM
• Half Marathon, 10K & 5K - Start time 8:30 PM
• Sunday Cutoff & Shuttle Ends - 12:30 AM (4 Hours)

Event Rules

• Half Marathon - 13.1 mile out n' back
• 10K - 6.24 mile out n' back
• 5K - 3.12 mile out n' back
• This is a cupless race. We will have water refill stations to refill your own bottles and cups.
• No littering.
• Headlamps Required.

RUCK: Weight requirements

• If you weigh more than 150 lbs = 30 lb. Ruck
• If you weigh less than 150 lbs = 20 lb. Ruck
• RUCK SACK OR VEST ARE ALLOWED
