Mac Forest Trail Run - March 7, 2026

Come join us for the 29th running of the Mac Forest Trail Runs. Beautiful trails and logging roads will take you through the majestic McDonald Forest. Whether an experienced trail runner, or a first timer, we believe you will enjoy every minute of the race.

Proceeds from the races will benefit local high school cross-country athletes and teams, and further the mission of the Oregon Running Foundation (“ORF”) to help move the lives of youth forward through the power of running.

Course Information

The course will take you through a combination of single-track trails and logging roads in OSU’s McDonald Forest. This Challenging course has 1450 ft. of elevation gain (for the 15k) with scenic views on a sunny day, otherwise plenty of mud! If the clouds part long enough, views of the Cascades, the Coast Range and Soap Creek Valley can be seen. Two Aid Stations located at the Forestry Cabin and the Cap House.

Oregon Running Foundation

Oregon Running Foundation is a nonprofit organization that raises funds and distributes race proceeds in support of local high school cross-country athletes and teams, and seeks to put shoes on the feet of young runners facing social and economic challenges.

Registration

Registration opens November 20, 2025. Get the kids out for a great morning with a reduced registration fee for youth 18 and under. Day of race registration will be limited to cash or check. Make checks payable to: Oregon Running Foundation. Registration and Bib pick up will begin at 7:30 am. No Dogs or Strollers permitted in the race(s).

Race Start Times

• 15k will start at 9:00am
• 5k will start at 9:30am

The 2026 race will be cupless!

Race Shirts

Shirts must be ordered by February 1st to guarantee race day delivery. We will have a limited number of race day shirts available for purchase the morning of the race.

Entry Fees

• Adults (19 and over): $40 for the 15K, $30 for the 5K
• Youth (18 and under): $15 for the 5k, $20 for the 15k

There is a price increase for registration after January 15th.

The McDonald Forest Trail Runs does not offer refunds on race entry fees or permit transfers. In the unlikely case of race cancellation, no refunds will be given however we will do our best to offer credit to next year's race.
