Monster Triathlon

Race Info

The Monster Triathlon 2026 marks year 21 and will sell-out early with over 700 athletes! The distances are FAST for the experienced athletes and just right for the beginner. At Monster Keller, you will enjoy the beautiful indoor pool of the Keller Natatorium for a 300 meter swim; jump on your bike for 14.3 miles, and finish strong with a 3.1 mile run. Each event is a little different at the finish line. Some have live bands, but ALL of the events are filled with energy and WONDERFUL costumes which are ENCOURAGED! This is a great race to end your triathlon season!

USAT RULES

DAR Triathlons are USAT sanctioned events and conducted in accordance with USA Triathlon rules.

Race Day Schedule

• 5:00 a.m. – Turn off alarm and get your costume ready!
• 6:15 a.m. – Transition Opens
• 7:15 a.m. – Transition closes/ Athletes stay in Transition by their bike until their number is called to enter the swim
• 7:30 a.m. – Race begins (First group of athletes taken into the Natatorium)
• 9:30 a.m. – Awards

Awards

The awards will be three deep per age group along with Athena and Clydesdale (39 and under, 40+) with individual awards for overall male, overall female, overall masters female & male and overall grand masters female and male. The breakdown of age group awards are as follows: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 -69, 70-74, and 75 & over Masters: Male – 40-59 Female – 40-54 Grand Masters: Male – 60 and over Female – 55 and over Overall Finisher Awards and Age Group Awards are based on gun time for running events and chip time for triathlon events. You or a designated person must be present to pick up your award. Awards are not available for pick up or mailing post event.

WEATHER POLICY

In the event of inclement weather, the start time of this event may be delayed by up to 1 hour. Past this time, the event course may be shortened or altered to protect the participants. If conditions turn unsafe, the event may be cancelled. Event changes and cancellations are at the discretion of the Race Director. We always strive to produce a full and safe sporting event, but sometimes the weather conditions can affect those plans. Considerable amount goes into planning a sporting event and we do so with the best intentions. Unfortunately, no one can control the weather and race directors are not the exceptions. Our goal is to always produce a full event as scheduled and only modify these plans due to safety concerns some of which can be caused by weather conditions. Thank you for your understanding of these policies and we appreciate your participation.

NEW AND IMPROVED DAR'S

Race Director decided to add new meaning to "MONSTER", making the course Longer, Hillier and THREE LOOPS. Add math to your brick workout for this one. 14.3 MILES - 3 LOOPS
