Newtown Savings Bank Mile Down the Pike

Event Details

Join us for the Newtown Savings Bank Mile Down the Pike, a one-mile road race. The route proceeds down Monroe Turnpike along the Monroe Memorial Day parade route AFTER the roads close, but before the parade begins. This swift mile downhill event starts at Firemen's Field and ends at Elm Street and Cross Hill intersection. Participants will be cheered on as crowds gather for the parade. This is a timed road race and will be held rain or shine. Participants should be able to complete a mile in 15 minutes or less. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 140 registrants (not available for those who register after May 21). Age group prizes will be awarded along with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male and female finishers.

• Saturday, May 23: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Packet Pickup at Newtown Savings Bank, Century Plaza - 535 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT
• Sunday, May 24:
• 11:00 AM - Race Check In Begins at Monroe's Firemen's Field (706 Monroe Turnpike, enter from Route 110). Race Day Registration available via mobile device with credit card ONLY.
• 12:15 PM - Race Checkin Closes, Walk to Start Line
• 12:30 PM - Race Begins
• 12:35 PM - Refreshments Available at Finish Line (450 Monroe Turnpike)
• 12:55 PM - Grab and Go Age Group Awards at Finish Line
• 1:00 PM - Monroe's Memorial Day Parade Begins
