ORRRC Gift Exchange 5k

Race Information

Welcome to a race presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club! If you're not familiar with the Ohio River Road Runners Club, we're a 100% all-volunteer 501(c)(3) Ohio Non-Profit club dedicated to promoting running and supporting the local running community in and around Dayton, Ohio. We are one of the largest (and we think BEST) clubs in the nation.

This is one of our "small races", meaning it is free for ORRRC members, free for anyone 14 and under, and only $10 for everyone else. If you're not a member, you'll have the option to join when you register - for only $35 per year, you get 20+ races from 1 mile to half marathon distances, on roads and trails, included!

What can you expect from an ORRRC "small race"? A great team of volunteers, most of whom are runners, committed to providing a high-quality event with well-designed courses and support for runners and walkers of all abilities. There won't be shirts or finisher medals, but for $10, you'll get a chip-timed finish (from our all-volunteer timers!), refreshments, maybe a small age group award depending on your finish, and a chance to challenge yourself or meet others in the Dayton running community. We hope you'll join us and have some fun!

Description

This fun low-key event is not your everyday ORRRC race. The Gift Exchange 5k is a fun way to celebrate the holidays through running. Instead of an entry fee, all participants are to bring a wrapped gift (valued around $10). At the end of the race, we will have a giant gift exchange (hence the name of the race) among all participants.

Race Details

• RACE START: 10:00 a.m.
• LOCATION: Kettering Recreation Complex, 2900 Glengarry Drive, Kettering, OH 45420.
• PRE-REGISTRATION: through RunSignup. Come to the green table at registration to receive your chip on race day. Minors may be pre-registered on RunSignup by a parent or guardian. Minors must have the liability waiver (Online through RunSignup or the registration sheet at the event) signed by a parent or guardian.
• FEES: There are no traditional entry fees for this race. Instead of an entry fee, all participants are to bring a wrapped gift valued around $10 to be entered in the gift exchange.
• AWARDS: All participants will receive a gift as part of the gift exchange. Overall male and overall female winners will receive a special gift in addition to the exchange gift. Please note: do not bring alcoholic beverages or adult gifts to this race – this is a family-friendly event and children may receive your gift during the exchange.

Race Day Registration: available online until approximately 15 minutes before race start time; hard copy registration sheets also available if needed. We recommend you arrive at least one hour before the race to park, register, and warm-up prior to the race start.
