Pocatello Running Club would like to announce the ninth annual Over the Top Trail Race on May 9th, 2026! Over the Top is one of Pocatello Idaho's most popular and beautiful singletrack trails in the City Creek Trail System. This extensive network of pristine singletrack will wow you with scenic overlooks, wildflowers, cacti, gentle rolling climbs, flowing switchbacks, and its amazing close proximity to town.

There are multiple distance options for ALL levels of runners: join us for 5K, 10K, a Trail Half Marathon, or for a 30K distance. The Over the Top Trail Race provides many opportunities for your specific goals. This may be your first laid-back trail experience, it can be a Spring tune up, or a speedy and competitive route that can earn you bragging rights among the locals. Details/Updates:

• NEW THIS YEAR: Distance and route changes! Check out the new map. The 3 mile and 5 mile loops have morphed into 5K and 10K. Distances have been adjusted to accurately reflect the true mileage as trails have been updated and rerouted. The two longer races used to be a 10++ mile and 25K which have changed to a true trail 1/2 marathon and a stout 30K loop. Both longer races now go up "Under the Top" counterclockwise first and then go "Over the Top" clockwise second. Beware: This is a very challenging and "slightly fat" 1/2 Marathon route! As always, the longest race (30K now) is deceivingly difficult with some sneaky late-race hill climbs. Study the map and choose your adventure.
• We allow roll-overs but no bib transfers.
• Early bib and bag pick up is Friday May 8, 2026, from 4pm to 6pm at Centennial Park.

Pocatello Running Club Pocatello Running Club is an organization that hopes to unite runners of every level of ability and interest. We are a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and our goal is to promote good health, friendship, camaraderie, and training options for all types of running events and runners.
