Peace for Pam is a 5K run/walk created in loving memory of my mom, Pam, who I lost to suicide on May 5th, 2024. This race honors her life, her strength, and the fight she put up every single day. Growing up, my mom brought my little sister Sarah and I to Laurel Acres Park countless times. It was a place filled with laughter, family moments, and simple joys. Holding this race at Laurel Acres Park is a way to celebrate those memories and honor the place that meant so much to her and to us. All proceeds will be donated to support suicide prevention efforts, education, and advocacy.

This race is held to:

• Remember the lives lost to suicide
• Acknowledge the millions who have experienced suicidal thoughts
• Support the individuals, families, and communities impacted by suicide
• Raise awareness and share messages of hope for those who are struggling

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death worldwide, and it is something that needs to be talked about more openly and compassionately. Through Peace for Pam, we aim to break the silence, honor loved ones, and remind people that they are not alone. Whether you choose to run, walk, or simply show up in support, your presence helps make a difference!
