Run 4 Water MKE

The 5K run/walk will symbolize distances traveled to access water in other parts of the globe. All proceeds from the Run 4 Water MKE go to projects designed and built by Engineers Without Borders at UW-Milwaukee providing clean water to villages in rural Guatemala.

The virtual race can be completed any time between 6:00 AM on Saturday, April 18 and 10:30 AM on Sunday, April 26.

Awards will be mailed out after the race.

Mission

In many parts of the world, access to water is very difficult. A major chore for the day involves walking an average of 3 miles each way to provide water for the family. Run 4 Water MKE Mission: Our mission is to acknowledge the importance of water in the daily lives of all human beings. Our annual walk/run is a statement of unity with the effort involved to access water. This mission is congruent with the United Nations World Water Day: http://www.unwater.org/worldwaterday/

Virtual Race

The event offers both in-person and virtual participation options. The virtual race can be completed between April 18th and April 26th, using the RaceJoy app for timing and tracking.

Awards

Top three female and top three male finishers will receive recognition and a medal. The fastest male and female will also receive a bonus prize. The largest team will get to keep the traveling trophy.
