Run for Kids Challenge

Join the Run for Kids Challenge, a fundraising event for Smile-A-Mile, an organization dedicated to providing hope and support to families affected by childhood cancer. This event aims to raise funds and awareness for their mission.

Races Offered:

• 10K Run: A 10-kilometer race, completing two laps of a 3.4-mile course.
• 12 Hour Challenge: An endurance event where participants run laps for 12 hours on a 3.4-mile course, with lap length adjustments towards the end.
• Kids Half: A 1/2 mile race for children, starting after the 10K runners finish. No entry fee, donations appreciated.

Event Details:

• Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026
• Start Time: 7:00 AM CT
• Location: Oak Mountain State Park, Cedar Pavilion, Pelham, AL
• Course: A 3.4-mile loop within Oak Mountain State Park.
• Timing: HuTag timing chips will be used.
• Awards: Overall Male/Female, Masters, Grand Masters, and age group awards for 10K and 12 Hour races. Finisher awards for all 12 Hour finishers.

Fundraising:

100% of race proceeds, after basic expenses, are donated to Smile-A-Mile. Runners are encouraged to raise additional donations.

Registration:

• 10K Registration: $55.00 (Total: $66.78 incl. taxes & fees)
• 12hrs Registration: $125.00 (Total: $149.93 incl. taxes & fees)
• Registration Closes: Wednesday, May 6, 2026, 11:59 PM CT
• Packet Pickup: Friday, May 2nd (time/location TBD) and Saturday, May 3rd (5:45 AM - 6:45 AM CT) at the Cedar Pavilion.
