• 5K: 8:30 AM (on site registration begins at 7:00 am)
• 1 Mile Fun Run - 9:00 am

First 200 participants will receive an official Run for Rett T-Shirt!

The Cause

The International Rett Syndrome Foundation's purpose is to support and encourage medical research to determine the cause, treatment and cure for Rett syndrome, and to provide informational and emotional support to families of those with Rett Syndrome.

About Rett Syndrome

Rett syndrome is a rare non-inherited genetic neurological disorder that affects 1 in 10,000 females and begins to display itself at 6-18 months. It leads to severe impairments affecting nearly every aspect of life.

Registration fees

Prices are inclusive of mandatory charges, items, and fees

Participants who raise over $100 in donations, participate for free. Donations must be mailed before April 16, 2026.

Schedule of Events

• 7:00am Race day registration opens
• 8:00am Warm Up
• 8:20am Announcements
• 8:30 am 5K Run/Walk
• 9:00am 1 mile fun run/walk

Pre-registration fee $30, Race Day registration $35.

Perks

• Scenic course through the forest preserve - Busse Woods - starting and finishing at Grove 26
• T-shirts for the first 200 participants.

Post race activities include music, food and awards.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top male and female overall finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups in the 5K Race (In Person participants only): 14 & under, 15 - 19, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60 & over.
