Run for the Gold 5K
It's time to Run for the Gold!! Grab your family and friends and go for a 1 Mile/5K run/walk with us Friday, March 27, 2026! Last year’s fun run, 5k, and family fun night was a huge success! Much of that success came from generous sponsors who contributed to the annual fundraiser. We hope this year’s race and family fun night will be an even bigger success!
The race will be held at Oak Grove Elementary School on Friday, Mar. 27th. The one-mile fun run will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by the 5k at 6:15. Our annual nighttime race and family night features music, food trucks, and more. The success of this event depends greatly on the generous support of community sponsors and friends of Oak Grove like you. Proceeds from the race help fund professional learning opportunities for staff, Leader in Me initiatives for both staff and students, and additional resources that enhance student learning and engagement. With your support, we hope to continue these initiatives this year and expand the resources, programs, equipment, and learning opportunities available to our teachers and students.
Please register by March 6th to guarantee your shirt.

FAQ
- What time does the race start? 5:45PM: Warm-Up begins / 6 PM: 1-Mile Walk / 6:15PM: 5K Race
- I see there is a $100 Max per household. How can I register on Runsignup.com and only pay $100 for my household of five (or more)? At this time, there is no way to max out the registration payment at $100 on Runsignup.com. If you have more than 4 people to register, please fill out a paper application and send in a check/cash to the PTO/Front office for processing. Checks should be made out to OGES PTO.
- When will I get my t-shirt? We are offering an in-person t-shirt pick-up. Race packets (numbers and T-shirts) for Oak Grove families will be sent home with students the week of the race. All other participants can pick up race packets on race day. Please watch your e-mail for updates.
- Can you mail my t-shirt? No, we will not be mailing out t-shirts.
- How late can I register? Registration will close at 6:00 PM on race day. We HIGHLY encourage last-minute participants to bring cash or check if they are registering just before the event. Cell service around the school is not good, and it can be hard to connect to our wi-fi outside the building.
- I don't want to run and I do not want a t-shirt, but I want to give money to the cause. How do I do this? To give, just click the DONATE link at the top of our page to donate. The funds will be handled by the PTO and given to the school (along with all the registration fees). Thank you for supporting Run for the Gold. You can also write the school a check as a sponsor for the event. Please call front office for details.
