Description

This is definitely one of our racers' favorite races. There are no huge hills and the scenery is beautiful. Beginning and ending at picturesque Shelburne Beach, you will run along dirt, gravel and paved roads featuring scenic views of Vermont countryside and rural farmland. Run past Charlotte Beach situated on beautiful Lake Champlain just before entering the Holmes Creek Covered Bridge for the first time. The course continues on quiet, rolling hills before arriving at the turnaround. The half marathon runs through the covered bridge twice. The 5K and 10K turn around before reaching the bridge.

This race will be limited to 3-1/2 hours. The race will end at 11:30 AM regardless of distance.

Pre-Race & Race Day Check In

Race bibs and t-shirts will be available at Fleet Feet, 77 Pearl Street, Essex Junction, Vermont on Friday, September 11th from noon to 6 pm. Race-day check in will be held on Saturday, September 12th at Shelburne Beach from 7:00 - 7:50 am for half marathon runners and 8:00 - 8:45 am for 5K and 10K runners.

Where to Park

Parking will be available on both sides of Bostwick Road, and possibly in some drier fields nearby. Please follow race staff and police directions. Once parked, please walk down to Shelburne Beach.

Water & Relief Stations

There will be water stations at 3 locations along the course. They will be located at: Mile 1.55 - the 5K turnaround, Mile 3.1 - the 10K turnaround, Mile 6.55 - the half marathon turnaround. Plain water and UnTapped Mapleaid Hydration will be available in cups at the water stations. In addition to the portable toilets located at the start/finish, there will be a portable toilet at Charlotte Beach and at the half marathon turnaround.

Race Rules

It is every racer’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with our Racer Rules. Time Limits: There is a 3-1/2 hour time limit to this race - regardless of the distance. Racevermont.com is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. The use of personal music devices is highly discouraged but permitted. Racevermont.com no longer allows baby joggers. Racers must be courteous to other racers, volunteers, race officials, spectators at ALL times. Unsportsmanlike behavior will result in disqualification. You will be running against traffic where instructed. Do not run more than 2 abreast. Race numbers must be visible at all times. Dogs are not allowed at Shelburne Beach and are therefore not allowed to accompany our runners in this race. NO BANDITS ALLOWED!

Awards & Raffle

Overall Winners - All Divisions: 1st Place: A pair of Saucony running shoes from Saucony and Fleet Feet, 2nd Place: Bottle of wine from Shelburne Vineyard, 3rd Place: One pound block of Dakin Farm Cheddar. Age group winners will receive a commemorative Age Group Winner Racevermont.com pint glass.

10:45 am - Awards ceremony for 5k/10k and Half Marathon followed by raffle.
