Shawnee Hills Trail Races

Shawnee Hills Trail Races - August 22-23, 2026

The Shawnee Hills Trail Races will be held at Camp Ondessonk in the Shawnee National Forest. Runners will explore stunning rock formations and waterfalls. The course is a figure eight loop with 80% single track trail, and is hilly and technical.

• 100 Mile Run: 6am CDT, August 22, 2026. 33-hour time limit.
• 100K Run: 7am CDT, August 22, 2026. 32-hour time limit.
• 50K Run: 7am CDT, August 22, 2026. 32-hour time limit.
• Night 50K Run: 7pm CDT, August 22, 2026. 20-hour time limit.
• Half Marathon: 8am CDT, August 22, 2026. 12-hour time limit.

Registration closes: Sat, Aug 15 @ 11:59PM CT. Check-in/packet pickup: Friday, August 21, 4pm-7pm; Race morning pickup available for 100k, 50k, and half marathon only (5:30am-7:30am, August 22).

Course Details: The course is a combination of single track trail and fire roads. It is hilly with rocks, roots, and creek crossings. Runners should be prepared for heat, humidity, and potential encounters with wildlife.

Aid Stations: 5 manned aid stations approximately 5-8 miles apart.

Swag and Awards: Custom event shirts, belt buckles (100-mile and 100k), and medals (50k and half marathon). Overall awards for male, female, and non-binary winners in all distances.

Lodging: Tree houses (included in registration for runner + 1, $10 for additional people), camping (included for one tent per runner, $10 for additional tents), hotels in Vienna or Marion, IL, and Airbnbs near Ozark, IL.
