Come and join the Shenipsit Striders as we continue celebrating our 50th anniversary with some running! It's a celebration with some running! Raffles, games, potluck, running 5k loops, and more! Saturday, August 15th, from 8 am to 4 pm at the Pavilion at Crandall's Park, 120 Cider Mill Rd in Tolland, CT. For every loop ran, runners will receive a raffle ticket that can be placed towards a chance to win one of the prizes. Prizes include free race entries, Shenipsit Strider merch, and more. As well, there will be hidden treasures along the course that runners can turn in for more tickets. This is a potluck event, so attendees are encouraged to bring a dish, snacks, drinks, etc. We will also be providing some burgers and dogs from the grill. Runners who sign up and run at least one loop will get a Shenipsit Strider 50th anniversary gift to mark the milestone.

Course

We will mark out a 5K-ish course through the trails with the start and finish at the Pavilion. Links to the course are included below. Run as many or few times as you want during the 8-hours.

Shenipsit Striders

The Shenipsit Striders trail running club was started in 1975 by a small group of friends in northcentral Connecticut that wanted to get together for weekly runs in the woods. Today the club has grown to include members from all corners of Connecticut and the New England region, with all abilities represented from new runners to experienced ultramarathoners. Our races serve to give back to the trail community by donating to Connecticut trail stewardship and land use programs. As a nonprofit club, our membership helps further support our goals to give back to the trail community - we would love to have you join us as a member.
