Silverton Alpine Runs

Experience the best of the San Juan Mountains with the Silverton Alpine Runs. Choose from an 8-miler, marathon, or 50-kilometer run along the breathtaking Alpine Loop. The marathon and 50K courses take runners through the historic mining ghost towns of Howardsville, Eureka, Animas Forks, and Gladstone, with a high point at 12,930 feet atop California Pass and a low point in Silverton at 9,318 feet. Total vertical gain is 3,800 feet for the marathon and 4,100 feet for the 50K. The race starts and finishes in the beautiful Town of Silverton, Colorado.

Mountain Duo Challenge
After getting your legs (and your lungs!) warmed up by embarking on your adventures around the Alpine loop, stick around and make the most out of your weekend by running the classic, 43rd annual, Kendall Mountain Run on Sunday. Take on the Mountain Duo challenge by running any of the Silverton Alpine distance options, and then climbing to the top of Kendall Mountian in the 12-miler on Sunday!! Look out onto the Alpine Loop from the top of Kendall when you tap the summit. Volunteers
We cannot produce these trail runs without the help of our amazing volunteer team. You can even help and run on race day. If yo would like to join our volunteer team, we are looking for help with event setup, aid station captains, aid station helpers, timing, and event breakdown.
