About the Event
Smalltown Soldiers 5k Run/Walk
On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the Scott Laird Hometown Heroes Scholarship Team will host a special 5K Walk/Run fundraiser in memory of Major Scott Laird, Bronze Star recipient, and Lackawanna Trail alumni. 100% of the proceeds from this 5K will be donated to The Hometown Heroes Scholarship. Established in 2021 in Scott’s honor, this scholarship aids future heroes in the community as they realize their own dreams, whether that be through military service, higher education, or a variety of honorable paths. Please thank the Fleetville Volunteer Fire Company of Benton Twp for their help in making this event possible.

- 5k Run/Walk: $30, 10:00AM EDT. Registration ends May 15, 2026 at 5:00pm EDT
- Student 5k Run (No Shirt): $10, 10:00AM EDT. Registration ends May 15, 2026 at 5:00pm EDT
- Kid's Fun Run: $0, 11:00AM EDT. Registration ends May 15, 2026 at 5:00pm EDT

Important Information: Race Day Registration/check-in will begin at 8:30AM. Race will start promptly at 10AM. Pre-Registration will close at 5PM Friday May 15th. Same day registration available (cash or check only).
